Dean Saffron: Aussie Rocky's Ricky Thornberry

Ricky Thornberry is a real life Rocky story from his humble beginnings of working at a local meat works in a small town of Gatton Queensland to becaming a world champion. But after a crushing defeat to Anthony Mundine in 2002 his life spiraled out of control Thornberry imploded, as if hit by every blow he ever endured all at once. He watched his wife and four children leave, hit the bottle, was approached to do standover work for gangsters and had repeated run-ins with the law, beating drugs and assault charges along the way. Now at 45 Thornberry is trying to claw his way back from the brink of despair into a normal life he is has started training current and future world champions.
